The U.S. Department of Agriculture has reported that the affected product is “LEAN APCO BRAND MEATS ALL-NATURAL PREMIUM CHORIZO” with a best-by date of May 12. This chorizo was sold in Texas grocery stores.
Fortunately, there have been no reported injuries or illnesses from consuming the contaminated chorizo. However, if you have purchased this product, it is recommended to either throw it away or return it to H-E-B.
