H-E-B issues public health alert for potentially contaminated chorizo

In San Antonio, a public health alert has been issued due to contaminated chorizo sold at H-E-B stores. The U.S. Department of Agriculture has reported that the affected product is “LEAN APCO BRAND MEATS ALL-NATURAL PREMIUM CHORIZO” with a best-by date of May 12. This chorizo was sold in Texas grocery stores.

Fortunately, there have been no reported injuries or illnesses from consuming the contaminated chorizo. However, if you have purchased this product, it is recommended to either throw it away or return it to H-E-B.

San Antonio Packing Company, owners of APCO Brand Meats, have released a press release regarding the public health alert. This serves as a reminder to always be cautious when consuming any food products and to report any issues or concerns to the appropriate authorities.
